Just read about the cool place - ok...I know it's a pun! The best shaved Ice spot in Dallas is Aunt Stelle's Sno-Cones. Address is 2002 W. Clarendon Road, and is located in an old barbershop. The co-founder is Estelle Williams, and for those of you younger people, is a very famous swimmer.

Facebook, Savannah, GA and a high school friend!!

Greetings!

I love Facebook!! It has let me re-connect with people that I never thought I would see again. One of these friends, Teresa Scott (and her husband), operate a bed and breakfast in Savannah, GA.

The descriptions says it all - "Savannah's laid-back southern charms feature Azalea Inn's Savannah vintage garden sensibilities, scrumptious southern breakfast, and glorious 19th century architecture ... complete with soulful imperfections."

Doesn't it make you want to jump on a plane or in a car, and go there! We haven't been there yet, but as soon as we are in the "vacation" zone, that will be one of the first places we'll go.

Rockport, TX

On Saturday we ventured over the bridge, out of Corpus Christi and into the beautiful town of Rockport. I’ll post the pictures as soon as I get them. I have a few more I’m taking of the area, and then I’ll post. We stopped for lunch at Alice Fayes - http://www.alice-fayes.com/ - the food was wonderful as was the scenery. Coming from the Northeast (Mass.), this place reminded me of the type of eatery on Cape Cod or Gloucester, or Hampton Beach.

I haven’t taken time off in a while – I mean real down time. It was a lovely, leisurely day playing tourist and being around the ocean. We discovered there are dolphin watch tours and crane watching tours, as well as deep sea fishing.  Deep sea fishing was the one thing I never did with my dad – it’s definitely on the agenda down here.
